WHAT IS A CREATIVE RESIDENCY?

One week on a regenerative farm in Valley Center.

Private accommodations. Daily farm-to-table meals.
Access to the property, pool, and orchard.

But the real offering is what's not here:

No notifications. No meetings. No social obligations. No distractions.

Just you, your project, and the space to finally finish it.

This isn't a retreat. This isn't a workshop.
This is protected time to do the work only you can do.

WHO WE WELCOME

Writers finishing novels, essays, screenplays.
Artists working on exhibitions, collections, portfolios.

Musicians composing, recording, arranging.
Designers developing projects that need deep focus.

Podcasters, filmmakers, photographers.
Anyone creating something that requires uninterrupted time.

You don't need to be "established."
You just need to be serious about your work.

YOU MIGHT BE OUR PERSON IF:

→ You have a specific project to complete (not just "inspiration seeking")

→ You work best in solitude with occasional human contact (not constant collaboration)

→ You need nourishment to fuel creativity (you understand food impacts your work)

→ You're disciplined but need protected time away from your regular life

→ You value quiet, space, and natural beauty

WHAT YOUR RESIDENCY INCLUDES:

🏠 PRIVATE ACCOMMODATIONS

Your own bedroom in the retreat center with an organic bed, cotton sheets, and a workspace.

Natural light. Quiet. Views of the orchard.

🍽️ DAILY FARM-TO-TABLE MEALS

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared fresh daily from our regenerative farm and local ranchers.

Designed to nourish your body so your
mind can create.

(Dietary needs can be accommodated)

🌳 FULL FARM ACCESS

Work in your room, on the patio, under the avocado trees, by the pool—wherever your creativity flows.

Multiple indoor and outdoor workspaces.

WiFi throughout property.

🏊 POOL & HOT TUB

Saltwater pool and hot tub available 7 AM to 10 PM. Some residents start their day with a swim. Others end it stargazing from
the saltwater hot tub.

Movement supports creativity.

☕ KITCHEN ACCESS

Espresso, tea, and light snacks available anytime. Kitchen access for late-night creative sessions.

We know artists keep their own hours.

🤝 OPTIONAL COMMUNITY

You can be as social or solitary as you want.
Some residents eat meals together. Others prefer to work through dinner.

We'll read the room. You set the boundaries.

WHAT THIS ISN'T

This is not a workshop. We don't teach classes or provide instruction.

This is not a critique group. We don't offer feedback or manuscript reviews.

This is not a networking event. We don't organize social activities or collaboration sessions.

This is not a luxury resort. It's a working farm with comfortable accommodations and real food.

This IS protected time, nourishing food, and space to work.

If that's what you need, keep reading.

FAQs

What if I need specific dietary accommodations?

We accommodate all dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, allergies, etc.). Let us know in your application and we'll confirm we can meet your needs before approving

Is there cell service and WiFi?

Yes to both. Starlink WiFi is throughout the property. Cell service is good (Tmobile, Mint, and AT&T work well).

Can I bring art supplies/equipment?

Absolutely. We have the workspace, but you bring your own materials. We have large tables outside and cafe tables to spread out on.

What's the typical day look like?

There is no typical day—that's the point. You set your own schedule. Grab breakfast and lunch from the farm-to-table cafe on your own tummy time. Dinner is served between 6 and 7 PM.

Will I have to socialize with other residents?

Only as much as you want. Dinner is communal if you choose. We respect whatever boundaries you set.

Is it actually quiet?

If you are living in the city - you will probably be amazed at the quiet. Of course, we are in an agricultural area, so you may hear a tractor or weed wacker going at times. The kitchen for the farm cafe is under your bedroom. We try to be quiet, but it is not silent.

READY TO FINISH YOUR PROJECT?

One week. Three meals a day. Zero distractions.

The project you've been putting off doesn't finish itself
